I started running after first few years in my job after college. I was not happy with my weight and wanted to get fit. I was just happy to be able to run a 5K at first, but eventually worked my way up to the marathon distance. It took me 8 tries to finally qualify for Boston, but I never gave up! I believe anybody can do anything if they put their mind to it and put in the effort!
After several years of running, including over a dozen marathons, decided to attempt triathlon to mix things up a bit. I had never really swam much nor had I ever owned a real road bike. I went all in and within just over a year, did my first sprint triathlon, an Olympic distance, a half-ironman and then a full Ironman; I was hooked! Trying to balance a family, a demanding job, and training for triathlon is a daunting task, but with the help of TriDot I have been able to keep going.
Unless you test yourself, you stagnate. Unless you try to go way beyond what you’ve been able to do before, you won’t develop and grow. When you go for it 100%, when you don’t have the fear of ‘what if I fail’, that’s when you learn. That’s when you’re really living- Mark Allen
