I started triathlon 3 years ago at age 51, having never even run a 5k. I had worked out and run on a treadmill but had never competed at all. A friend talked me into running a 5k, and I was instantly hooked! At her encouragement, I decided to train for a sprint tri. I bought a used road bike and took a masters swim class. It was UGLY! I was constantly dropped on group rides and couldn't swim 25 yards without having to stop and gasp for breath. I competed in a few sprint/olympic triathlons and froze my way through IMTX 70.3, ending up needing IV's due to dehydration because I didn't have my nutrition nailed. I changed to TriDot after having met my current TriDot coach Kathy Hudson at the IM Galveston training camp. She has helped me nail my endurance nutrition and train more effectively and efficiently, and it has made a world of difference! TriDot has been a complete game changer! It has dramatically improved my training and performance. I love that the volume is lower, and I find the intervals challenging and effective. I've become stronger, faster and more confident. I was recently named a Bronze Ironman All World Athlete. If this asthmatic grandma can do this crazy thing called triathlon, anyone can!
I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength- Phil. 4:13
